Comarch helps Kabel Deutschland build a consolidated OSS landscape embedded into a next practice approach to network plan, build and run to support its growing network infrastructure and a developing service portfolio.

Krakow – February 14th, 2013 - Comarch, a global software house and system integrator, has just signed an agreement with Kabel Deutschland, Germany’s largest cable operator, for the optimization of network and service management processes.

Cable operators currently have to deal with increasingly complex operations and services, coupled with strong competition from traditional telecom operators. Offering multiple IP services requires scalability that can only be delivered with the right tools for the efficient management of network resources and services, as well as for provisioning processes.

Kabel Deutschland decided to face this challenge and develop its network infrastructure to support the needs of its customers. The operator wanted to optimize its legacy network and service management toolset towards enabling next practice approach to network plan, build and run that would be ready for the change.

Comarch’s solutions proved to be the perfect fit for what they required – both in terms of ensuring cost efficiency and in offering systems that not only suited Kabel Deutschland’s current needs, but also would be scalable enough to support any future development of their network infrastructure.

The goals of the implementation include: optimizing Kabel Deutschland’s network expansion processes and operations, as well as supporting the growth of the operator’s network coverage and capacity. These objectives are supported with the new standardized Comarch Network Service Inventory and Inventory Planning, while Comarch OSS Process Management will improve customer experience by assuring full control over incident and problem resolution processes for the operator. Thanks to having a single, consolidated platform for managing all resources, Kabel Deutschland will be able to significantly shorten the time-to-market of their innovative services.

- As we look to expand our offer and provide our customers with new services at competitive prices, we needed to significantly increase the efficiency of our business processes and speed up the rollout of network infrastructure. We needed a partner that had experience on the German market and in the cable industry. We believe Comarch solutions will enable us to reach more subscribers with an extended and modernized network, which will also improve service quality and increase customer satisfaction. – says Gerhard Mack, Senior Vice President Technical Operations at Kabel Deutschland

- Cable operators are one of Comarch’s strategically important target groups. Our goal is to help them reduce redundancies and increase the efficiency of plan-build-run processes, in order to gain a strong competitive advantage. I am positive that Comarch OSS products will provide Kabel Deutschland with the required system scalability, while lowering operational costs. – says Piotr Piątosa, Vice President Telecommunications and Member of the Board at Comarch
