Comarch Communications Shortlisted for Best IoT Initiative at the Global Connectivity Awards 2026

Comarch Communications has been named a finalist in the Best IoT Initiative category at the Global Connectivity Awards 2026. The recognition celebrates its solution, titled "Unifying Massive IoT (GSMA SGP.32) with Critical Infrastructure and Mission-Critical Communications within a Sovereign Architecture."

The shortlisted project solves a growing challenge for modern energy providers and public safety networks: managing millions of everyday smart utility meters alongside zero-failure power grid controls and emergency responder communications within a single, secure environment.

As countries digitize their energy grids and municipal utilities, Comarch Communications eliminates the traditional split between basic meter readings and sensitive grid operations by combining modern remote eSIM standards (GSMA SGP.32) with dynamic traffic management and sovereign security controls on a single platform. 

This architecture allows operators to update or switch network profiles over the air across millions of smart devices in under a minute without sending technicians to remote sites, virtually eliminating manual maintenance visits that typically cost €100 to €150 each and delivering up to a 100% reduction in field logistics expenditure. 

Smart traffic management for mission-critical operations

Crucially, the platform manages high-volume smart metering alongside high-priority critical operations without compromising reliability. Even when millions of utility meters transmit data simultaneously, the system dynamically prioritizes emergency voice calls, first-responder video, and urgent power grid control commands. To safeguard unmanned physical equipment in public locations, the platform also cryptographically locks each eSIM to its designated hardware module, protecting infrastructure against physical tampering and unauthorized access.

The credibility of this initiative is built on Comarch Communications’ global footprint, managing over 65 million active SIMs across enterprise and wholesale environments.
