Comarch Communications, Hatif Libya, and Makman Technology Consulting Finalists of FutureNet World Awards 2026

Comarch Communications, together with Hatif Libya and Makman Technology Consulting, has been named a finalist of the FutureNet World Awards 2026. The nomination in the Automation Solution Award category recognizes a significant achievement in network automation, highlighting a solution that delivers real operational impact within a complex, multi-vendor communications environment.
Long-term vision for autonomous networks in North Africa
This nomination recognizes one of the first practical implementations of Conditional Autonomy Level 3 in North Africa, where the partners took a pragmatic, carefully controlled approach to transformation. Rather than pursuing a full system overhaul, the project focused on a Minimum Viable Transformation strategy, introducing automation directly into the live production network while safeguarding the continuity of critical national services.
The entire implementation is fully aligned with the TM Forum Open Digital Architecture, ensuring long-term composability and readiness for ecosystem-driven innovation. Through certified Open APIs, the solution seamlessly integrates equipment from multiple vendors, creating a truly interoperable, future-ready technological backbone spanning xPON, DWDM, and IP (L2/L3) domains. The architecture is composable, event-driven, and policy-based – designed for long-term AI evolution rather than short-term automation gains.
Results of the joint initiative
The results demonstrate the tangible value of this approach. Fiber-to-the-Mast provisioning has been reduced from several days to less than a minute wherever infrastructure is available, while network degradations are now identified within seconds. Advanced AI-driven operations significantly reduce alarm noise and enable faster, more precise incident diagnosis, all within a framework where every automated action remains transparent, policy-driven, and fully auditable.
Beyond operational efficiency, the initiative lays the groundwork for new commercial models such as Network as a Service, enabling internet service provider partners to trigger end-to-end provisioning through a fully digital interface. The success of the program was driven not only by technology but also by a strong focus on organizational readiness, with Makman Technology Consulting ensuring that operating models, processes, and data foundations were aligned before scaling automation across the network.
The impact extends further into sustainability, as predictive fault analysis reduces the need for physical field interventions, lowering operational costs while contributing to reduced emissions. Ultimately, this project provides a proven and repeatable blueprint for operators seeking to introduce autonomy in a safe, commercially viable way, demonstrating that advanced network automation is not only achievable in emerging markets but can deliver measurable business value from day one.
"We are exceptionally proud to be named finalists for the Automation Solution Award alongside our partners. This nomination highlights our ability to deliver real, production-proven results rather than merely theoretical frameworks. Our joint achievement demonstrates that a structured, standards-aligned path to AI-driven operations is both commercially viable and operationally safe for operators in emerging markets," said Szymon Uczciwek, VP Growth & Strategy - MEA at Comarch Communications.
