Comarch Communications and LG U+ Recognized at Asian Telecom Awards 2026 for AI-Driven Network Optimization

Comarch Communications and LG U+ have earned an accolade in the "Digital Initiative of the Year – South Korea" category at the 2026 edition of the Asian Telecom Awards. The recognition was awarded for transforming how LG U+, a major South Korean operator, manages its massive network through AI-driven predictive maintenance.

Comarch Communications wins for the third consecutive year

The Asian Telecom Awards program recognizes exceptional accomplishments within the telecommunications industry across the Asia Pacific region. The awards celebrate organizations that successfully navigate complex market challenges to deliver innovative and highly effective solutions. Comarch Communications previously won in the Asian Telecom Awards in 2025 for our cooperation with du, and in 2024 for the project with KDDI and for our Forecast Generator.

One of the recognized solutions at the 2026 gala was the successful implementation of Comarch Communications' Forecast Generator on an open platform designed to meet diverse requirements, using LG U+’s live network data to automate capacity management across a complex network architecture.

Forecast Generator is a tool powered by advanced AI/ML algorithms that analyze historical data, seasonal trends, unexpected traffic spikes, weather data, and daily traffic changes to predict exactly when and where network capacity is needed. Based on these predictions, the system automatically adjusts network configurations to allocate resources "just-in-time" without excess provisioning.

Optimizing network resources with the power of AI

Using AI/ML algorithms, the forecast creation is dynamic and highly sensitive to short-term movement characteristics. It integrates data on seasonal and periodic courses, traffic trends, and daily changes, and can overlay patterns of common changes stored in libraries. Forecast Generator analyzes capacity needs based on the determined Worst Busy Hour (WBH) from the previous week. Based on this analysis, the system calculates the required threshold levels for radio element counters and details the average number of active subscribers in the WBH.

Using predictive analysis, Forecast Generator automatically creates a schedule for adjusting the performance of RAN elements, executing appropriate processes within the automated network configuration change systems while rigorously maintaining all service quality and availability parameters. The deep degree of automation achieved allows the product to operate autonomously. The solution offers significant support for the decision-making process, eliminating the need for experts to be physically present on-site.
